Bobcat
Days
Campus-wide
Open House Event, twice a semester, in which incoming freshman, and/or
students interested in become Bobcats, take tours of campus, tours
of residence halls, are provided academic advising, and are given the
opportunity to find out what Texas State Pride is all about!
Bobcat
Build
The largest volunteer service event in this area, where over 1200
Bobcats participate in community projects all over San Marcos.
Scholars
Weekend
We
spend the weekend with potential Bobcat Scholarship recipients
and show them what it is like to be a Texas State Bobcat. They
spend a night in the Residence Hall, take a campus tour, and even
sit
in on a class or two.
ASAP
Conference
The
Association for Student Advancement Program plays host to nearly
35 schools in this region of the United States alone. They provide
leadership training, orientations on community involvement, and
a chance for the Texas State Ambassadors to meet the ambassador
representatives from other Universities. We attend both national
and district conferences.
Relay
for Life
A
community fundraiser put on every year here on the Texas State
Campus to provide funding for cancer research. It is an all night
team invovled marathon event, helping a great cause and having
a great time doing it!
Campus
Tours
The
Ambassadors work closely with the Admissions Staff, The Alumni
Association, The Parent's Association, and the Texas State Visitors
Center providing trained tour guides for all special events, daily
campus tours, and VIP tours.
Parent's
Weekend
The
Ambassadors are involved in Texas State's Annual Parent's Weekend in
the fall semester. We are pleased to welcome the parents to our University
and give them a weekend in through the eyes of a student.
Recruitment
Phone-a-thon
The
Texas State Office of Admissions hosts a phone-a-thon every year to
call all incoming freshman students that have already been accepted
to the university to welcome them and invite them to our Bobcat Day.
