Text Box: WELCOME TO NSSLHA….HERE IS A LITTLE HISTORY
ABOUT US…..
Founded in 1972, the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association is the national organization for master's candidates and undergraduate students interested in the study of normal and disordered human communication behavior. NSSLHA is the only official national student association recognized by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). NSSLHA membership has over 18,000 members and chapters in more than 285 colleges and universities.
The Texas State NSSLHA Chapter includes undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in the field of communication disorders. The goal of the student organization is to provide professional enhancement through state and nationally organized events and special guests, knowledge about the field of Speech-Language Pathology, opportunities to serve those in the community with a communication based approach, and to provide a basis for socialization among those individuals interested in this area of study.
Involvement in NSSLHA leads to a fuller appreciation of the professions of speech-language pathology and audiology and a greater awareness of the issues affecting these fields.
