International
Symposium and Career Fair (IS&CF)
The IS&CF brings many of the country’s
top engineering and science professionals and
college students for a week of professional development
workshops, corporate presentations, company tours,
informational sessions, technical paper presentations,
design competitions, and a career fair. In addition,
middle and high school students will participate
in a separate outreach program held in conjunction
with the IS&CF aimed at promoting careers
in engineering and science in the growing Mexican

National
Leadership Conference (NLC)
The annual National Leadership Conference has
become an essential event in giving our leaders
the opportunity to meet with others from around
the nation. The conference dedicates over two
full days of activities for student and professional
leaders. The NLC is an intensive program of
leadership training where attendees learn skills
to improve leadership abilities and increase
their effectiveness as MAES chapter officers.

| Science
Extravaganza™: This nationally
recognized program was initially created and developed
by our chapter and has expanded to other student
and professional chapters across the nation. The
Science Extravaganza brings together local schools,
industries and the Texas State community in a
fun, collaborative learning environment. The hands
on science and engineering presentations demonstrate
basic principles that all aspiring scientists
and engineers encounter during their education.

8th
Grade Leadership Seminar: MAES has
been instrumental in organizing leadership activities
with the local San Marcos community. Increasingly,
future engineers & scientists will need
to extend their learning to collaborative environments
in order to remain competitive and employable.
Team activities, organizational workshops, and
instruction at the seminar emphases these and
