Our Mission

The Latino Student Association (LSA) was founded with the purpose of promoting Latino culture, community and success while developing strong Latino leaders. Each semester LSA works hand-in-hand with the San Marcos community as well as Texas State University to provide college aged Latinos a welcoming environment that fosters service and educational achievement.

Promoting Community
Each semester LSA works hand-in-hand with the San Marcos community as well as Texas State University to provide college-aged Latinos a welcoming environment that fosters service and educational achievement. We believe involvement with a student organization is a vital element in Latino student retention. Throughout the year we are engaged in a number of workshops, panel discussions and social events that promote interaction between Latino students, faculty and staff members.

Promoting Success
Texas State is an emerging Hispanic Serving Institution, it is essential that the Latinos students of today are given ample opportunities for personal development and advancement. The Latino Student Association promotes the success of Latino students by means of leadership development. We concentrate our efforts of leadership development by offering our members the opportunity to attend leadership conferences and workshops designed to confront issues that multicultural student leaders face.
