Don and Tammy Rainey have a total of more than 50 years
experience teaching physical education in public schools across Texas and have
won numerous awards for their teaching and service.
Mr. Rainey is certified as a strength and
conditioning specialist by the NSCA and Mrs. Rainey is certified as
an athletic trainer by the state of Texas. Both are Senior
Lecturers in the HPER Department at Texas State University and Hold
Masters Degrees in their respective fields.
Mr. Rainey joined the faculty at Texas State
University nine years ago and has since become the director of the
HPER Department's PFW Program as well. Mrs. Rainey joined the
faculty at Texas State University three years ago to become a
university lecturer after teaching at every level of the public
school sector.
Mr. Rainey has guided the ESS Club since coming to
Texas State University and Mrs. Rainey has also been involved in the
same capacity since her first year at Texas State.
They
have both strived to create a club atmosphere that leads students on
a path of professionalism though out their university experience and
give students a social network comprised of their peers pursuing
similar careers. In addition to this, Mr. and Mrs. Rainey have
helped students become leaders within their academic communities,
helping students receive a richer college experience as well as
become the Health and Physical Education field's leaders of
tomorrow. |
