Faculty Lunch Bunch
Each Wednesday during the semester, from Noon to 1:00 P.M., the SWT
faculty, staff and administration are invited to share in the
"Lunch-Bunch." We meet at the CCC building, 604 N. Guadalupe
(across from the Jones Food Court). The speakers and topics for this semester
are listed below. Lunch is available for $3 or you may bring your own
"brown-bag." Information, fellowship, and interdisciplinary
dialogue have been the fortes of the "Lunch-Bunch" for over
twenty-five years.

|
"Separating Church and State: It's in the
Constitution" John Yeaman, a Social Worker and retired
United Methodist Minister in Austin, will be offering a short history of
American religious freedom and addressing some of the current related
problems.

|
"Our Iragi Intervention: Impolitic and
Unethical" Bob Krueger, former U.S. Senator and Ambassador,
will be using his 10 years of living overseas as a resource for critiquing
our foreign policy and its impact on our reputation in the world.

|
"Finding Your Inner Republican: How to Love the
USA Patriot Act" Lamar Hankins, a local attorney and peace
activist, will be examining the impact of the USA Patriot Act on civil
liberties.

|
"NO MEETING - THANKSGIVING HOLIDAYS

December 3
|
"Spiritual Journey of a Methodist Pastor" George
Ricker, retired United Methodist Minister and former faculty member at
Texas State and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, will be
reflecting on his discovery of and struggles with a vital religious
orientation.
